NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF AN OFFICIAL PLAN

Take notice that on January 27, 2009, Township of Pelee Council passed By-law No. 2009-6 under Section 17 of the Planning Act R.S.O. 1990, cP.13, as amended, to adopt a new Official Plan.

Purpose of the New Official Plan

The new Official Plan replaces the 1991 Township of Pelee Official Plan.  It outlines a long-term strategy for the development and use of the lands comprising the entire Township of Pelee.  The Official Plan sets out goals and policies to guide future development and change in the Township.  The Plan addresses future land use and its regulation, municipal services, and related economic, social and environmental issues.

TAKE NOTICE that any person or public body is entitled to receive notice of the decision of approval of the Official Plan from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing if a written request to be notified (including the person’s or the public body’s address) is made to Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Municipal Services Office – Southwestern, Second Floor, 659 Exeter Road, London, ON.  N6E 1L3. 

Copies of the adopted Official Plan are available for viewing or purchase at the Township Offices during regular office hours.  The Plan may also be viewed on the Township of Pelee web page, www.pelee.org.
